Mend Opel Astra 1.7 Diesel Temperature Gauge Not

my temperature gauge does not work on astra ?

temperature gauge on astra 1.7 deisal does not move, changed a sensor on termastat houseing with two wires still no effect. when you take plug off sensor and switch ignition radiator fan comes on.

could be the thermostat its-self if you have not changed that ,take the thermostat out and put it in a pan of boiling water and see if it opens or if it is open replace it
