Replace a catalytic converter on Subaru Outback ?

My 2000 Subaru Outback needs to have its catalytic converter replaced. Do I need to use an OEM part or are there cheaper parts available which will prove just as good? If so where can I find them and at what price. Is there a performance converter that is cheaper and just as good?

not sure about subaru`s but fitted a few catalytic converters recently,got them from motor factors,have found the price is coming down all the time,last couple were off a focus and corsa and both were under £100 so well worth shopping around,if you want to save money try sourcing from scrappy or even e bay.
