How can I add refridgerant to my 1999 ford Expidition?

I recently attempted to add refridgerant to my AC and found that I must need a new addapter Is this true? If so where do I get it?

Should have r134 freon in sytm and can buy add charges at local parts store just be sure to add on the low side of the sytem
