How do you change a fuel sensor on a Renault Traffic?

How do you change the fuel sensor on a Renault Traffic (1988) T1300 Campervan? It's a a T1300 LWB Van Conversion. I have been told the reason the fuel gauge does not work is it needs a new fuel sensor.
