Hi, I am trying to buy a towbar for my 2002 CRV, but there appears to have been a change of model this year. How can I tell if I have a new model CRV (2002-2007) or an old model (1997 to 2002).

Just phone a main dealer with your reg.no or chassis no. and ask them,sure they would help you out,even a motor factors should have this info available.
