Dell Inspiron 1525 Plugged in but not charging?

I have a Inspiron 1525 and the battery stopped charging and the light would flash orange. I replaced the 6 cell with a 9 cell and now the batt light stays off and it says plugged in not charging. Do I need a different charger since its 9 cell or is it the same issue that everyone else is having?
