Rattle coming from my corsa 3 1.2 when started when warm how do i fix it it?

Car does not have ht leads as it's got coil packs above everyplug and can not be removed individually as they are all one unit. After further poking and proding of the engine I think the problem is a weak chain tensioner and a lazy oil pump have been quoted £550 by main vx dealer to repair I'm in no hurry to spend that sort of cash still looking at other options

Based on limited info the only other thing it might be is a little end. When engine is warm and likely to rattle on start up, try taking sparkplug leads off (one at a time) each of the cylinders and see if you can isolate the rattle to one cylinder

Oil and filter (vauxhall one) has been changed the filter housing was all there along with small spring valve the noise is still there. I am getting concerned that this car is going to let me down in a big way mechanic I know has said it might take a few days for descent fully sinthetic oil to loosen sticky chain tenshioner etc

What you have done has covered the basics. Could be lots of things is the rattle at the top or the bottom of the engine?

Changed oil and filter (vauxhall parts used) still no change

Normally the none return valve is an integral part of the oil filter.

Oil was last changed in dec on full service, I have purchased a new oil filter from vauxhall as they tell me the first thing I should have a look at changing the filter and the oil, it did not come with a non return valve only a new rubber seal for cap. I'm going to change oil this weekend and see what that does. I'll keep you posted

ps: exploded diagram on vauxhall computer did not show a serviceable non return valve

Few questions
When did you last change the engine oil and did you use the correct grade of oil?
Have you used the correct oil filter with a none return valve - it may be that oil is running back to the sump when the oil is hot and oil pump is slow to prime.
