Mend Fisher & Paykel Smartdrive Washing Machine Repair

Fisher & Paykel Smartdrive Stops and starts?

My F&P Smartdrive is doing the same as Brads, Starts to fill with water for a few seconds then stops, so I manually filled the machine, but then it would only agitate for a few seconds then stops, tried every cycle , no luck.stops starts stops. then the beeps go mad
How did you get on Brad?
Can this be fixed or does it require a Repair Man Callout

I had the same problem with my F&P Smartdrive. I found it was the out of balnace level sensor as well. Gave the switch a good clead with an electrical cleaner and freed up the switching mechanism and now works again. Make sure you clean the swich and free it up as well as cleaning the connections. You should hear a click when you push the small button on the side of the switch.

There are a number of threads on this (or very similar) problem. In another one it was suggested that the out of balance sensor switch had corroded and is the problem. This provided the clue I needed. The switch was OK but the connectors to the switch had the green gunk on it that you get from copper corroding. The moist area there causes grief. I just cleaned the connectors reassembled and it has been fine for a few months now. It is covered by the controller board but very easy to get at.
