Mend Nissan Micra Overheating Coolant Engine

my nissan micra overheats/the temperature gage moves up very quicky ?

Where could my nissan micra be leaking water from? is it just from anywhere in the engine. it overheats in traffic and the temperature gage moves up very quickly.
I cannot go any distance without refilling the water tank.
is it an expensive job or could I fix it myself?

Thank you for your answer. I don't think it could be the cooling fan because I can see the coolant/water I have put in the engine 15mins before run out into the road.
It would be nice if a garage did not charge me very much but I am sure I can 'dream on'.

you need some 1 to look at it to see if cooling fans not working and to see whether head gasket going take to a garage for a mechanic to have a quick look at it should be able to tell you without charging you very much
