Mend Volkswagen Golf Want Whats Wrong

i have a 2002 vw golf and want to know whats wrong with it ?

driving home the other night the car suddenly made a beeping noise then wouldnt let me go above 20mph after about 100 yards it cut out and wouldnt start again

doesnt even tick over when i turn the key
the ignition lights come on and thats it. whats wrong with it ??

a common fault on some golfs is the immobilizer coming on when ignition on take to a garage and get them plug it in to diagnostics if it is ecm module you will need to replace it code 17978(P1570) or 18058 (P1650) CAN data bus no signal can only be done using diagnostic equipment
