how can I replace the sending unit?

How can I replace the sending unit for my gas guage on my 1988 Nissan 300ZX

Nissan Nissan Z31 Vehicles, Cars Replace Unit Gas

Sender units for fuel gauges are normally found on the top or side face of the fuel tank. Thet look a bit like a jamjar lid and are held in place with about 6 bolts /screws.
You will need to run the fuel tank near to empty prior to removing.
When you buy a new sender unit remember to buy replacement gasket.
Take care re petrol vapour!!!
