Mend Citroen Xsara 2.0 HDI Wire Broken Door

wire broken at door post?

how do i fix a broken wire at the door post of a citroen xsara 2.0 hdi ,i have found it and is the green one but i cut in half to rejoin but it dont work can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong .
sory is for the window control

trace the wire from the begining in car to switch and put a new 1 in also if have a circuit tester can check all the other wires from source to switch but first check fuse for window motor look in handbook in case fuse blown through wire shorting
