why is my temperature gage really high?

after driving my p reg vauxhall corsa for only about 10 minutes my tempertature gage is going past the 100 mark and into the red!!! what can cause this?

blocked or obstructed radiator, no coolant, faulty waterpump, faulty temperature sender if no other symptoms such as red oil light coming on.etc etc.
