Mend Push Button Toilet Cistern

Push button toilet cistern?

I have a push button toilet cistern. The button presses down but nothing happens(no resistance there). Taken the lid off and theres some plastic device attached to the back of the push button which leads to a small tube. I can lift the blue tube running down the middle of the cistern which then flushes the toilet fine. Any ideas please?
