Mend Potterton EP3000 Boiler Timer

potterton ep 3000 ?

i have a potterton ep3000 and the dispay clock/timer dims when it comes on automatic. and sometimes the clock goes to 12am for no reason. Does this mean i need to get a new one and is this just the timer or is it somthing to do with the boiler too?
