my hotpoint Aquarius TDC 30 will only work for 2-3 mins?

My TDC 30 only runs for 2-3 mins then stops. if you then try and press the on/off switch you sometimes get a buzzing noise close to the central switches on the front. after waiting for a while it can then be started but the asame thing happens again.
