the wire that is loose is in the cable which plugs into the machine i cannot dismantal the plug as it is a sealed unit so how do i seperate the plug without braking it

You can't, if the break is in the sealed lead you need a new lead, the motor and lead are normally YDK make, what you need to do is take a drawing or even the lead to a dealer and the chances are you can match it.
