Mend Sony RDR-GX210 Dvd Months Working

My Sony RDR - GX210 DVD Recorder ejects the disk?

My Recorder is about 7 months old, and has been working perfectly until this week. I place a disc on the tray and press close. It closes OK and " Loading " shows on the screen. Loading then disappears and the disc tray opens immediately.
Have tried several discs that I have been using , and also tried a brand new disc. all for the same result. I have gone through the " Initial Set Up " process twice, but the problem still exists. Any ideas ?

Oh God! Why is it always the case that when an item such as this breaks you then discover that it is a 'global' fault!

Until today - it was a good unit!
Recorded programme, froze finalizing disk now won't read anything including original disks!!
Not bought Sony before - won't bother again!
Samsung never let me down!!!

if the unit plays cds ok and wont play dvds then the laser has gone(not enough power to read disc) the drive will need replacing...its an lg drive... iam replacing drives in these unit every week there all under the 1st year.contact sony this is a major component it should not go so soon.

I have exactly the same problem. It will play CD and VCD.
