Can not turn key enough to get key out when locked?
Whilst locking the door i can lift handle as usual and everything works as it should until you get within a whisker of the key being straight so that you can remove it. The only way to get the key out is to unlock and turn till key straight and then remove the key ! Its the same when you try it with the door in the open position.
you need a new barrel
to remove, open the door, on the lock-strip just below the centre of the barrel is a phillips head screw (some older ones have slotted screw). remove this.
insert the key and turn to the 2 or 10 o`clock position and pull barrel out.
you can buy these cheaply on-line and note that they come in many various sizes. most sites tellyou how to measure.
