my tomtom does not pick up satellite?

Try plugging in an external antenna/aerial - you can obtain these from Maplin or any good mobile phone shop. If it now picks up the satellites it means that the internal antenna/aerial is broken or not connected. You need to give it a good five minutes in an open area to ensure that it detects satellites. If plugging in an external aerial does not work, it is probably beyond economic repair.
