Ford mondeo windscreen washers blocked ?
Heres a how to if your washers dont work but your pump is working. (this was a 96 Mondeo, i suspect theyre all much the same)
In all probablity the filter in the bottle is clogged but you will be able to check all the hose connections etc at the same time. You need to get acces to it all.
Remove the drivers side wheel. Undo the two screw that retain the front undertray to the inner wing (under the washer bottle location). You'll need a torx type bit to do this.
Undo the inner wing screws (cross head screws) be careful, they have plastic heads.
Remove the inner wing, now you can see the washer bottle.
There were two outlets on my pump, one for the frontscreen, one for the rear.
Look at this point to make sure the hoses are connected to the pump rubber connections, they can pop off in icy weather. The rubber L shaped connector has a non return valve in each i think. Blow though the connector to hopefully clear any gunk...you need a bit of puff..
If you need to remove the pump, undo the hex bolt retaing the bottle to the chassis (10mm spanner). gently pull the bottle to one side to get better access. Gently pull out the pump, its just a push fit, watch out for the water in the bottle.. That'll leave the filter in the bottle, again it just pull out (like a black rubber bung). You might need to manipulate it to get it out. Mine was absolutely clogged with gunk.
Reassemble in reverse order and test before you start putting the inner wing etc back.
Took me 1 hour maximum, but i am happy working on cars.
Hope that helps anyone.
