I've tried to overboard my bedroom walls but despite using a good quality platerboard adhesive (compound) and having sand-papered the old painted wall surface, most of the dabs have failed. They are stuck to the back of the plasterboard but have come away from the wall. What else can I do. Should I have used PVA? Any advice gratefully received. Thks Martyn
use blobs of plaster behind the boards 2 at the bottom 2 at the top near the corners and 1 in the middle press the board against the wall make sure they are level do them all the same around the walls including the ones you may cut to fit the corners.

yes pva would have helped , if most have failed use it neat without dilution , check that the wall was not painted under the top coat with gloss as this will stop the adhesive sticking, what are the walls behind made up from brick and plaster or plasterboard.
