Mend Sharp XE-102 Problem Changed Times Read

XE-102 Ink problem on register tape?

Have changed ink roller several times and still can't get a clear read out on register tape. It is either missing or prints very faintly and is really hard to see.
Can anyone help me fix this?

These are basically throw away printers, so if you've replaced the roller, then the printer probably needs replacing.
