Hi -don't know what a w1a111 is but by your description a simple fault which happened to an old Zanussi of mine was that the programming knob was sticking -thus preventing it turning and therefore the programme won't complete. If you've got a pair of decent sized pliers-you should be able to gently pull of the programming knob(after you've switched electricity plug off-although there's no electrics under these types of knobs)off ie just pull know toward you with the pliers.Inspect the plastic knob and gently clean it in hot water with washing up liquid.Inspect the cavity where the knob fits and see if ther'es any gunge around the circumferance of it-if "yes"-gently clean it with a cloth dampened with washing up liquid or if it's very bad-use one of those small rectangular abrasive sponges. Refit the knob(when dry)-it's usually a "D" shaped shaft-so just carefully line it up and gently push it home until it fits like it's supposed to! Good luck.
