does any know how to stop the dial on the ariston margheritta 2000?

i have had mine for nearly 3 years now but after only 18 months it would start emptying mid cycle & the dial would go round on it's own. i did what it said in the manual to reset it but i kept doing it. i've had the engineer out to it 6 times for the same problem - last time he came he made out it was my own fault, claiming there was damp behind the machine but there wasn't. my extended warrantly runs out in september & i'm dredding it breaking down after then. does anyone have the same problem?
