dead unit?

jvm1850cf001 xl1800
about 5 years old
was cooking asparugus and it got really hot while it was cooking that they looked like they were broiled , then the unit died the tray and carousel were extremly hot . unplug for awhile but still nothing ... what could it be opened panel nothing looks burned out .still unpluged
