Problem with my ADP 8132 Diplomat dishwasher?

My dishwasher starts off as normal but after a couple of minutes it stops whilst making an electrical humming sound .I`ve had to go to "end of cycle" to empty out the small amount of water there is in it. The first time I noticed the problem was when the RCD tripped on my board and switched everything plugged into the ring mains off! That first time the element was hot to touch but since then it seems cold,is the element the problem here? Just to recap; it starts fine ,goes through the cold prewash but the just stops while making a buzzing sound. Any help appreciated
