Nah!!! he's no plumber just a 'Cowboy' a plumber would have used a basin spanner and tightened up the tap securing nut under the sink. They are a pain to get to with pipes on. Nothing I know of would hold the taps because of the smooth no-porous surface.
If you still want to know ask at local plumbing store if there is anything [that I don't know about] that will hold a loose tap in place.
