How to replace the brake light switch on my 2005 Citroen C4?

Hey there. I have a 2005 Citroen C4 and the brake lights have stopped working all at the same time. This is an intermittent fault and sows all the signs of a brake switch fault but I cannot find it!

Can anyone help explain exactly where and how to replace it without going to an extortionate dealership?

I had given up on the mysterious brake switch. Then I found this. Make sure that you adjust the length of the new switch to match, or even be just a shade longer, than the faulty one. Switch cost £12 on amazon - Many thanks.

pay attention, it is under dashboard in the passenger seat ( right hand drive cars)

On my C4 (RHD) it is in the passenger footwell. Remove the plastic cover beneath the glovebox. You'll find the switch behind this.
Disconnect the connecting plug and twist the switch a quarter turn anti clockwise and pull.
To fit the new one its the same process but in reverse.

Its a really quick and easy job. Switch only costs bout £6 from Citroen dealership. Common problem.

normaly its just a small switch above the brake pedel that unclips & a couple of wires, on some vehicles the switch can be in the area above the passenger foot well under the dash area, as there maybe a brake control bar or linkage crossing the car under the dash, if its the same as a peugeot they are a bit tricky have a look before you start! if not take to your local garage or main agent you have had five years out of it they are not normaly that expencive it saves being tail ended....!
