washer?

1) remove the lint catcher from off the top of the agitator grab hold of the large boss thing on the top(TOWEL MAY HELP) grip it and turn it ANTI CLOCKWISE raise the spindle up and out the agitator is now free to lift off

2) another version if the disc type turn the disc anti clockwise till it stops, now press down and twist it a bit more anti clockwise this is like changing a light bulb.
