How can I remove the lid from the toilet?

Press and hold down the small button and lift out the large button remove the small button use a cross headed screw driver to remove the retaining screw. cistern lid can now be removed

Armitage Shanks advised:
Press and hold the small button.
Remove the large button by popping out with a screwdriver.
Pull out the small button.
Undo the large screw underneath the buttons.
Remove the button housing.
Lift off the cistern lid.
I've just done it and it is easy.

I don't yet know, I'm trying to find out the same and will call Armitage Shanks tomorrow (Mon Feb 22nd). I will let you know what I find out.
