How do i get at the on/off switch on a dyson DC08 base?

follow Steve steps. it worked on mine.

You need to take the machine apart, take the casing off from around the motor (by unscrewing/unclicking it)and then slide out the power switch. If you remove the microswitch from the main switch and spray WD40, CRC or similar into it, it should disolve the dirt in there and all should be fine again.
