how can I fix my sony HXD560?

I noticed this question has been asked before. My recorder switches on says welcome then switches off again.It happened on Friday evening do I just wait to see if anything happens or should I take it in for repair?
I am not able to use the set up menu on page 101 as the machine is not in stop mode but off.
