There is some confusion over this blower problem. I was advised it could be the ignition switch ,this isn't the case.
The power for the blower is triggered by the alternator,so when the engine is running this energises the Blower relay normally black cased and located to the left on relay board above drivers foot well, injured neck here!.remove orange relay(screen heater timer) to get to black one.. Tips to find fault,1 blower dead, and Heated Screen dead ! Check Fuse 21 ,25 amp green, If okay check Black Blower Relay with meter, coil 1,2 and contacts 4,5.common 3. use 12 volt supply to energise or prise of cover, not easy as glued..
If both okay using meter check 12 volt at relay socket this comes from fuse 21 and maxi fuse near battery also check alternator trigger voltage present when engine started. If any voltages missing trace back to source.
2.. Heated Screen working but blower dead.
Remove soft trim above passengers foot well, to gain access to Blower Module, find connector with 4 wires to front of unit near glove box flap, unplug connector and check voltage on the to heavy wires (red and black)Start engine and test, should 12 v be present then blower is faulty, can be removed standing on your head and removing 4 screws on blower housing.
new blowers approx £80-£100 try euro parts.
If NO voltage present on red and black cables there is another connector near drivers left toe where the red and black cables terminate check for voltage here , in my case I had lost power from relay box to this connector ,harness and relay box inaccessible had to bypass suspected fault with cable ,soldered to front of relay to the red wire at toe connector .Now works Fine.Note,My Car is a Zara VTS, I assume the wiring will be the same for all models with regulated air con. Haynes Manual does seem to cover the electrics quite well. Good Luck
