why do my break lights stay on on my 1988 ford feista?

I have seen this on many occasion drivers take out the bulbs to clean the contacts for one reason or another and put them back the wrong way around, although this is pretty difficult to do some people manage if quit easily.
Ask someone to watch your brake lights while you press the foot brake if they go dim, take the bulbs out and re- fit them correctly.

Brake light switch needs ajusting or replaced ...can find it under dash on brake lever ......unplug it and see if lites go out
When ever you apply brakes it pushes plunger out and when you let go it opens to undo contact

switch up on pedal maybe faulty disconect wires see if they go oot new switch

because its probly wired wrong or you need to go get the bulbs that act as a break light and a light
