should I try fixing my lcd?

seem to have the same problem as everyone. I have a samsung le40a556 which wont come on. the red light keeps flashing but no pics or sounds. called samsung and they said go to dealer who want to charge a callout of £105. Like all those who have given it a go I will check the capicitors tomorrow and if damaged will try soldering new ones on. thanks for all the advice and will let you know how it goes.
