How much to fix my steering coloumn on a 05 Megane?

My 2005 Renult Megane just failed MOT, the guy has told me the steering coloumn is knacked, its still driveabl but it needs to be replaced asap. Its hard cos I depend on my car everyday. How much do they normally cost to re-pair.
