I have a bosch dishwasher(don't know model#) its 10 yrs.old, the valve that controls the water inlet does not open up to let the water through.I checked the valve and it seems to be working, the water valve is in the open position.I am wondering if there might be problem with the diaphram that is inline with the solenoid valve, when I checked for power ,I get the proper voltage across the solenoid valve contacts.Could you help me out
Just seen this and tried adding a few cups of water, it drained then filled perfectly. Brilliant

My Bosch would not fill. I corrected the problem by adding a couple of cups of water. When the water drained, it then went into fill mode properly. For some reason it must have been stuck in drain mode.
This quick fix saved me a bit of time and money.

i had a sink blockage which caused the tray at the bottom of my dishwasher (behind the bottom metal panel at the front) All I did was mop up this water with a sponge (please tyurn off power before you do this) let it dry out for a while and hey presto it was working again.

check the pipe that conects the sump inlet (below the filters) to the inlet chamber (where the Diaphram valve is) You will find that it is full of fatty yuck. You may be able to clean it out with a solt plastic piece of cable with the wire frayed at the end (like a micro chimmney brush).

Check to see if you have water in the pan at the bottom. If you do there is a cut-off that prevents water from entering. Check inlet hoses and pump/drain for leaks.
Good luck
