street fight electric choke ?

how do i know the choke is ON or more important OFF ie what method is needed/used to test the choke device.
only read on here the device case should get warm .why and how does it work.
by the way the 4 turns setting method works a lot better than the 3/4 turn out.
thanks again i wait answer with interest only into to manual choke levers. and water jackets getting heated to turn choke off via (BI METALIC STRIP )
