I have a 2007 Renault Scenic 1.6 Extreme. The problem with the radio is that during prolonged cold nights when the temp. is below freezing the radio stoppes working. If you discconect the battery it will power up and ask for the radio code. This has happened twice, once in Jan 2009 and again in Jan 2010. I think it may be due to the cold temp. draining the battery a bit through the night affecting the cars compter but there has been no problems starting the car on the mornings though. Has any one had the same problem and can shed some light on why it happens.

It has happened again twice during the very cold nights we have had in Nov / Dec 2010. the car is now out of warrenty so no point in going to my dealer for a warrenty fix so its the simple fix of disconnecting /reconnecting the negative on the car battery and inputting the radio code again!!!!!!!! then all works again???????

Hi, thanks for your responces. I have had the radio checked at my Renault dealer and as the radio was working they could not find a fault. The technition said that if it was the fault under the recall the radio would not have come back on once the battery had been reconnected and the temprature gauge whould have stayed on all the time. All they could say was if it happened again then to take it straight to them to check while it wasn`t working so they could trace the fault.

I had the same problem on an 07 scenic. Renault told me there was a Radio Recall on certain model!

hi dennis yes its an internal fault with the radio. you may ask how i know, im a renault tech. this is quite a commom problem. aslong as you vehicle is under warranty then take it to your local renault garage and they should be able to claim a new radio set for you under warranty. please post and let me know how it goes...
