Mend Dynamac DB26 Repair Mechanism Model

Dynamac Strimmer DB 26 Repair failed starter mechanism?

My dynamac strimmer model DB26 starter mechanism has failed. Not the pull cord but the engaging Pawl. It is necessary to stop the shaft turning whilst clutch members are removed. This seems necessary to get the required access to the failed parts. Please advise how this is achieved.
