how to fix?

I bought this tv dvd combi from tunbridge wells branch of toys r us and my daughters remote control has just stoped working we bought it on the 4th of janurary it is the akura APLDVD1216W-HDID. can you please advise me as to what I can do as I have changed the batteries and its not the batteries as I have put the batteries in an other controls and they are working so it is a fault with the signal between the control and the tv can you help
