"CALL" displayed on Kenwood KDC-MP338?

I receintly installed a Kenwood car stereo uning the proper wiring harness for my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The wires all matched up and the system turns on and plays for a minute or so then the display says "CALL" and it cuts off. When I push the SRC button the system plays again for a short time before it cuts off and "Call" is displayed. It does not act like a short when driving on bump roads. I continue to get it dispite turning off lights and all other accessories.

There is a cable in the connecting loom, which when earthed, causes 'CAll' to be displayed. Check the install manual for the colour as I can't remember. Simply cut, and insulate, this cable. That is assuming you don't have it connected to a car phone kit as the earth is normally supplied by the phone when ringing.

Has your car got a hands free kit fitted? could be interfearing.
on back of stereo it should have a brown wire might have label saying (tel mute) try disconnecting this wire and it should solve your problem.
if you have hands free doing this might stop it working through stereo
