Just before going on holiday I noticed the tamper light on my Scantronic 9448 system glowing slightly. On arrival home the whole system was down with no power showing. I was under the impression that the system was power supplied and the battery was just for back-up.
Is it the case that without battery back-up the whole system fails or do I probably have a seperate fault that needs to be addressed ?
the battery is a back up for the main power supply.this only has limited back up time sounds like you have lost its main power supply.battery is now exhausted and needs mains to recharge it.try mains power to see if problem clears.
