The dishwasher will start the program but then trip all the switches downstairs. The only program it doesnot trip on is the rinse where it doesn't use the element. Could this be the problem?
Could be the heater element. Possibly a faulty trip switch or socket. Plug a 2kilowatt fan heater/kettle or similar into the same socket and if it doesn't trip chances are that the dishwasher heater element is damaged.
