Unfortunately unless you can open the camera up and let it dry completely it is likely that the water inside will corrode and damage the components rendering the camera "dead".
If water got inside the lens then there is no way for it to evaporate completely and will leave a residue inside sticking the shutter together.
The quicker you can remove the water the more chance you have of saving the camera.
If water shorted the battery terminals then it is also likely that 1 or more of the fuses have blown.
If you can open the camera then DON'T TOUCH any of the componets or especially any thing to do with the flash. This will give you a shock even when the camera is switched off and the battery removed because the capacitor used for the flash holds a charge until it is used.
Find someone who can help you if you can't do it.
Also please tell your parents as it will be better now rather than later
