Programme problem with intergrated Whirlpool Dishwasher MOD.APDW/1 Prog2000?

I have a intergrated dishwasher the make is Whirlpool MOD.ADPMW/1 Programme 2000, made in Germany . It is about 7 yrs old. The progrmme has gone wrong and will not work at all. You press the start programme and all it does is constantly bleep with the light flashing, it also switches itself to rinse mode but does not run the programme. This happened once before about a year ago, but the next day it decided to work again. Have left it overnight and tried again this morning but still the same. Can it be repaired or should I just buy a new machine? Is it worth getting the repair man in or just a waste of time? Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.
