rubber driver side front window seal?

I think you have ad old car (maybe)spray both sides of the window with a mix of water and washing up liquid,doesn't matter about the ratio,and hold down the rubber while someone winds the window up,the clips that hold the rubber in have either rotted or come away,if it's an old car don't spend money on your window not working perfect,push the rubber down and live with it for now.
