Mend Scantronic 9851 Reset Alarm Showing

How can I reset my Scantronic 9851 house alarm?

Child did something to our alarm pad and it is now showing K01 Tamper reset required. I phoned my alarm company and they said they could send an engineer out. This will cost me. Is there a way to do it without an engineer having to come out?

I dont understand why the home owner cant reset the alarm him/herself? Why does one have to call out an engineer. All thats needed is an access code to reset??
