Fault 26 on a ferroli optimax 25 c, unable to re-set?
I have a ferroli optimax 25 c which has stopped working, flashing up fault 26. My boiler man said it was frozen condense pipe and to pour boiling water on it. Trouble is, the boiler is located upstairs and the pipe is about 20' long with 5 bends! Boiling water, hairdryer and hot water bottles on the bits i can reach isn't working! Does anyone know if F26 could be something other than frozen pipes?
Ferroli boilers are indeed a pile of poo. If the boiler will not reset then the f26 code is a fried ignition board, caused by a frozen condensate pipe!!! These boards really aint cheep either. It is a really bad design on ferroli's behalf as most condensing boilers have a safety lockout if the condensate freezes and backs up into the boiler, but not on the optimax 25c. Possibly one of many reasons this boiler has been discontinued.

the blocked condense pipe was the original cause but the f26 not resetting now is a display cicuit board fault and will need replacing
